Year-end Giving 2023

About Year-end Giving 2023

As we embark on 2024, we ask you to be an integral part of our journey.

We need your support not only for sustaining the progress we’ve achieved this year but also for advancing our mission to broaden our impact by inspiring people of all ages through the intersection of science and music.

This year we focused on developing a custom educational tool that will empower us to expand our hallmark education program, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool, nationwide. We are now in the beta-testing stage for both hardware and software versions of this tool! We continue to serve nearly 3,000 children a year by inspiring them through a 10-week curriculum that brings the science of sound alive through experiential and multi-sensory lessons. Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool has inspired over 30,000 elementary school children to date.

Meanwhile, the Bob Moog Foundation Archives has grown significantly this year thanks to large donations of a variety of archival materials. We received 11 collections totaling 720 items, including:

*A rare R.A. Moog Minimoog #1094 (one of the first 100 Minimoogs
manufactured)
*A 1961 R.A. Moog Melodia theremin
*A 1971 MuSonics Minimoog
*An R.A. Moog Troubador Theremin
*Hundreds of rare documents, including vital correspondence, historic photos,
vintage catalogs and technical manuals, industry journals and periodicals, reel-
to-reel tapes, and much more.

We are particularly honored to have received a donation of over 300 pieces of archival material from the estate of electronic music pioneer Herb Deutsch, who collaborated with Bob Moog on the development of the Moog modular prototype in the early 1960s. This collection includes seminal correspondence between the two tracing the evolution of their working relationship.

This year, the Moogseum will inspire approximately 11,000 visitors from all over the world through its custom-designed interactive exhibits. In addition, our exhibits and archives have drawn the attention of major museums, archives, and historic preservation organizations, and we anticipate our work being shared in significant exhibitions across the United States in 2024.

Our work relies on your support, and we cannot achieve our goals without you.

Please consider making a year-end donation today.
